Winning Texas Hold'em online is not complicated. The enormous volume of bad players online make winning easy. All you have to do is play the statistical favorites and they will pay you. It doesn't take a math genius or a slyful crafty bluffmaster. What it takes is the application of two character traits. They are:
1.
Patience,
and;
2. Discipline
You must have patience to play only the best starting hands. You must have the discipline to fold your hand when you are probably losing. You must also have patience and discipline to continue playing only the best starting hands. Even very good hold'em players forget this from time to time.
Starting Hands
You must have the PATIENCE to play only the best starting hands. It's true that any two hole cards can win. But it is equally true that the best hole card hands win MORE. If you pay money to see every hand before the flop you will surely be a loser. But, where do you draw the line?

You should raise preflop with the hands in the raisers column. You should call preflop with the hands in the callers column. AND THESE ARE THE ONLY HANDS YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING OUTSIDE THE BIG BLIND. YOU MUST FOLD EVERYTHING ELSE !
You should be in for LESS THAN 35% OF THE FLOPS YOU WATCH. IF MORE, YOU WILL LOSE MONEY !
IF
YOU CONSISTENTLY PLAY ONLY THE HANDS IN THIS GROUP, YOU WILL
WIN MONEY OVER THE LONG HAUL !
IF YOU ARE REGULARLY BETTING PREFLOP ON TWO CARD
HANDS OUTSIDE THIS GROUP YOU WILL HEMORRHAGE CASH !
IT'S A FACT, IT'S PROVEN, IT IS STATISTICALLY CORRECT, AND EVERY PROFITABLE ONLINE TEXAS HOLD'EM PLAYER USES THIS STRATEGY. (or one very much like it)
End of story. Your decision to play or not play based on the first two cards is the most important decision you make. YOU MUST BE PATIENT If you easily get bored, or want to play more hands, OPEN TWO OR THREE TABLES AND ONLY PLAY THESE BEST TWO HOLE CARDS ON ALL OF THEM. (party poker allows you to play up to 3 tables simultaneously)
AFTER THE FLOP
After the flop, you should only continue to bet or call if you have at least :
1.
A Good Pair, or;
2. A Good Draw

What's a Good Pair?
A good pair is when there are not two higher cards
showing on board(the community cards).

What's a Good Draw?
A good draw would be when you have:
a. four to a flush,
b. four to a straight
c. three to a straight or flush, AND a pair or TWO overcards.
d. Two very good overcards (like AK or AQ)
IF YOUR HAND AFTER THE FLOP DOES NOT SATISFY AT LEAST THESE CONDITIONS, DO NOT CALL, DO NOT BET, SAVE YOUR MONEY, GET OUT OF THE HAND.
BLUFFING
Three words, ' DON'T DO IT ! '
It is almost impossible to get everyone to fold at lower limit online texas hold'em. If you have nothing, you will lose 9 out of 10 times on a bluff. Just play your winning cards and fold the rest. or

This simple strategy will make you money in the long run, if you have the PATIENCE and DISCIPLINE to stick to it. It will be difficult for you when you see that sometimes the two cards you held would have won the hand, or, when you see that someone else wins a hand with cards that are not recommended her. You can comfort yourself by knowing 1) that you are saving money in the long run by not playing those hands, because you would lose more than you would win with them and that; 2) Those players are making statistically incorrect decisions and THEY WILL PAY YOU OVER THE LONG HAUL!
Further Education
You can gain further insight, and become a more skilled player, using more advanced techniques and strategies(bluff more), if you educate yourself further. There are very good books available that have accurate and valuable insight to the game of online Texas Hold'em. By reading and practicing you can add more interesting and fun dimensions to your game. But understand, even those advances are founded on the basic strategems laid out on this page.
